Recently I rediscovered that I have interest in development. Actually I started my career as a kind of developer role, working in a family business.
The circumstances and the whole industry was based on different approaches then, the Object Oriented Paradigm had just been getting widely available, but most of the development environments were still supporting the old, procedural languages. So, it was easier to work with those languages, based on the extensive (paper based) documentation and the compatibility with the current systems. I was developing systems in FoxPro, Clipper, dBase and Pascal. SQL was already available for those languages, and using the built-in SQL engine instead of the given language based solution could incredibly increase the data manipulation performance.
Later I have been familiar with the OOP, and other languages such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Delphi, C, and Objective-C, yet development remained a kind of hobby for me, because I have been working mostly in the IT management field since I left the family business.
Now I feel that I should jump into it again, first because so many exciting things have been changed since then, second is to prove myself that I am still enough creative and fresh minded to absorb and use the new technologies. I have particular project in my mind, consider this post as a foreword for the upcoming posts.
Let’s design and code!
